Combine gingerbread mix with corn meal and salt in large bowl; stir in milk until mixture is evenly moist. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer for 2 min. Stir in raisins. Pour into a greased and floured 7 or 7 cup mold. Cover with foil and tie. Put a trivet or metal rack in Crock Pot. Pour 2 cups hot water in the pot. Place the filled mold on the rack or the trivet. Cover the pot and cook on high for 3 – 4 hours or until the bread is done. Remove from pot and cool on a rack for 5 min. Loosen the edges with a knife and turn out on a rack and cool slightly. Serve warm with butter or cream cheese.
Butter a slow cooker or spray with nonstick baking spray.
In a large skillet melt butter and add sausage, cooking and breaking up, until sausage is lightly browned. Add onion and celery and continue cooking until vegetables are tender. Add parsley poultry seasoning, and sage, if using.
In a large bowl, combine the sausage and vegetable mixture with the crumbs. Stir until blended; add chicken broth. Add salt and pepper to taste and blend well. Blend in the lightly beaten egg and stir in the cranberries or raisins. Spoon into the prepared slow cooker; do not pack. Cover and cook on HIGH for 45 minutes. Reduce heat to LOW and cook for 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours longer.
Cream together shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Add dry ingredients alternately with mashed banana; stir in raisins. Grease a 4-cup can and pour batter in it. Cover top with paper towels (6 to 8) and place on rack in cooker. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours (or until bread is done).
